3 suspected dacoits killed in Pabna ‘gunfight’

At least three suspected dacoits were killed in a ‘gunfight’ with the elite force RAB in the district’s Ishurdi upazila early Friday.

The gunfight took place around 3.30am in Joynagar area.

RAB members also held four bullet-hit dacoit members from the spot.

The deceased could not be identified immediately.

Commander of RAB-12 ASP Bina Rani Das said they had information that a gang of 10-15 robbers were committing robbery at Badsha Rice Mills and a RAB team conducted a drive there. Sensing the presence of law enforcers, dacoits opened fire, forcing the RAB men to back fire that triggered. After the gunfight the two dead bodies were recovered from the spot.

Five bullet-hit persons were held from the spot. One of them died on way to Pabna General Hospital.
